Today we are having a conversation about overwhelm.
To help me talk about this, I spoke with award-winning journalist and author Brigid Schulte. Her book Overwhelmed: Work, Love and Play When No One Has the Time was named one of the Washington Post’s notable non-fiction books of the year, and it is an incredible treatise on how we have gotten to this space of being overwhelmed in our world and offers some very practical advice about how we can work through it.
Brigid is also the director of the Better Life Lab at New America, which is a non-partisan think-tank focusing on work, life, and gender equity. She had a lot of really great insights and advice for us today about the modern-day mania surrounding “busyness” and how disengaging from work is actually better for our brains, particularly our creativity….
